Besides being known for shrimp and grits and beautiful
historic architecture, there is one thing that is unique in
it’s own right, and that is a Charleston beach
wedding. In my many years of event and party planning
the Charleston beach wedding has got to be one of my
favorites!
Picture this… An altar surrounded by palm trees
strategically placed in the sand an aisle of tiki torches that
create almost a bohemian look and feel, I tell ya folks theres
nothing like it.
As you slowly approach the perfect setting for a Charleston
beach wedding, leave all the hussle and bussle of your daily
life behind. It’s time to kick off your shoes, grab a pair of
flip flops from the basket, while your at it, pick up a couple
of packs of bug repellent wipes and sunscreen, it all comes
with the territory.
Whenever I have the opportunity to coordinate or officiate a
Charleston beach wedding an indescribable feeling of warmth
comes over me, is it the soft whistling sound of the wind as
the waves rush toward the shore? Or is it the coincidence
of the dolphins swimming by the ceremony area just as the
couple says I do? Whatever it is, while a Charleston beach
wedding is often imitated it is never duplicated.
Charleston beach weddings are simply the
best in my book!
What you might want to think about when hosting a Charleston
beach wedding is that there are some areas that following the
ceremony you can host your reception right off the beach. Now
that does’nt mean on the beach as I believe there are
restrictions.There are many covered picnic areas close by as
well as reception venues.
